How to Register for Safaricom's M-PESA
Registering for an Mpesa account is free for all Safaricom subscribers but usualy comes with terms and conditions for which you must follow in order to keep your account active.
If you have purchased a sim card from the company recently and done a normal full SIM registration then you are most likely registered with Mpesa and all you need to do is make it active.
If you haven't, then just follow these steps in order to get Mpesa services on your phone.
Visit any Mpesa outlet or any safari com shop with any of the following documents
Kenyan National ID
Passport, Military ID
Diplomatic ID
Alien ID
The Mpesa agent will ask you to make a copy of the document you provided during the registration process. After its complete you will also be required to active your mesa in order to start enjoying the services, here is what to do
Go to Safaricom menu and select M-PESA
Select ‘Activate’ or ‘Wezesha’
Enter the ‘Start Key’ (4-digit number received from M-PESA)
Create a new PIN (a preferred 4-digit number that will be your PIN)
Confirm the PIN by entering the 4-digit number again
Enter your ID number (same as the one the agent entered upon registration)
M-PESA will send a menu to your phone with a ‘Secret Word’, press OK on receipt
